December 18, 2020
Dear Friends:
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that I was exposed to COVID-19. This has resulted in the closure of our parish office as well as my own need to quarantine until December 27. I am saddened that I will not be able to celebrate Christmas with all of you. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the extreme generosity of so many brother priests who have selflessly offered to help with Masses at Saint Patrick and Sacred Heart Parishes.
As a result of this situation, please note the following:
Weekday Masses are cancelled and will resume the week of December 27 as normally scheduled.
Weekend and Christmas Masses will continue as scheduled.
We were in the process of mailing tickets to those who had made reservations for Christmas Masses when COVID-19 struck. As a result, tickets have not been and will not be mailed.
Faith Formation will resume on Wednesday, January 6.
The parish office is closed. Although we are doing our best to monitor emails and phone calls, there will be significant delays.
How fitting it is to situate this present challenge within the final days of Advent which invite us to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. No matter what we face in life, Christ is with us! He, and He alone, is our hope, our strength, and our joy. This is why we rejoice - at this time of year and always! We rejoice because nothing, as St. Paul says, can separate us from the love of Christ. Nothing - not even COVID-19.
May the remainder of this holy season of Advent be filled with God’s grace and the strength of His Holy Spirit so that your celebration of Christ’s birth will be filled with every blessing.
Father Andrew J. Wellmann
Parochial Administrator
