Letter from Fr. Jim
Dear Parishioners of St. Patrick,
During these unprecedented times we are living through, with the Coronavirus, I wanted to share a few thoughts. Although we do not have the opportunity to participate in the Grace of the Holy Eucharist, may we continue to exercise our duty as the Body of Christ and pray for each other and those most vulnerable and already affected by the Coronavirus. May we also continue to use the gift of reason God has Blessed us with, in making prudent decisions that we may keep ourselves and others safe (and hopefully not hoard too much toilet paper, LOL). I believe this is what the Bishops of Ohio, and the Governor, have done in the steps and difficult decisions they have made. We will continue to post a weekly bulletin on line, where you will find resources that will help direct you to find televised and live streaming masses and other liturgical celebrations.
During this season of lent, we prepare to enter into the Paschal Mysteries (the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ) of our faith. It is our faith in Jesus Christ that changes how we view and live our lives. During this time of a worldwide pandemic, due to the Coronavirus, perhaps it is a call to enter into the “sufferings” of Christ in a new way. While the future is uncertain, and seems to be changing daily, and at times even a little scary, may we always remember that we know Easter is coming, and Christ will rise from the dead! I again ask that you continue to keep our parish and it’s ministries in your prayers, and if possible continue to support us with your generous donations (while many things have stopped, as we all know, the bills do not).
Easter Blessings to you and yours,
